There are two varieties of the cottontail bunnies: the New England and the eastern bunnies that look almost alike. Animals of these varieties differ from each other mainly in colors of their coat. The New England cottontails weigh 1.64-2.94 pounds. The eastern cottontails’ weight ranges from 1.8 to 2.95 pounds.
